Superior Service from a Service-Oriented Team
Our practice is built on a strong foundation of customer service. We believe that the key to better service rests on a true understanding of our patients’ needs, which is part of why we strive to really get to know you. We focus on building strong, long-lasting relationships so we can provide personalized service that treats the individual as a whole.
Our board-certified optometrists provide comprehensive eye exams, and our fantastic licensed optician works with you one-on-one to fit you with the perfect corrective lenses, from glasses to contacts.
We are always researching and adopting new technologies as they become available. Advanced, innovative, and effective technologies allow us to provide you with accurate information about your eye health. These include:
We use the Topcon Maestro system, which combines retinal imaging and optical coherence tomography. The retinal scan produces a clear, digital image of the retina, while the OCT scan gives us detailed, microscopic images of the surfaces of the layers of the retina. Using this non-invasive technology, we are able to identify various ocular (retinal detachment, tumors, macular degeneration, etc.) and systemic diseases (diabetes, hypertension, stroke, etc.) that can’t be seen with the naked eye. Because of this, it is also effective for the early detection of glaucoma.
We use the Oculus to conduct a visual field test. Because your eyes work together and your vision overlaps, your brain compensates for lost vision, meaning you may not notice vision loss caused by disease until it’s advanced. A visual field test looks across your central vision to check for blank or dark spots that may indicate the presence of or damage caused by glaucoma, multiple sclerosis, hyperthyroidism, pituitary gland disorders, central nervous system problems, stroke, diabetes, or high blood pressure.
We use the iCare Tonometer to measure the intraocular pressure of the eye. You may be familiar with the “puff of air” glaucoma test. This tool allows us to test for glaucoma without a puff of air or the need for numbing drops, as it’s painless and quick.
We use the VisuRef autorefractor to measure the refraction and corneal curvature of your eyes. This technology gives us an objective measurement of how your eyes focus light on the retina. We combine these results with a regular vision test to determine your required prescription. This tool is especially useful for patients who may have trouble with the standard vision test, such as young children.
The phoropter is a refractive machine that determines your prescription lens. Using this machine, we will place lens options in front of your eyes to determine which lens makes your vision clearer. Ultimately, it helps us determine your level of myopia, hyperopia, or astigmatism, which allows us to provide you with an accurate prescription for corrective lenses.
A slit lamp is a special microscope with an attached light that allows us to see the front, back, and, when your eyes are dilated, inside of your eye. The slit lamp lets us look for discoloration or inflammation of the sclera (the whites of the eyes), injuries or conditions of the cornea, and issues with the lens, such as cataracts. With dilation, we can also see problems with the retina and optic nerve that may indicate disease, like macular degeneration or glaucoma.
Our small team of optometrists and eye care professionals work together to provide you with comprehensive care, from treating and managing vision problems or eye conditions to finding you the eyewear that best suits you, we are engaged in what matters to you.
We only have eyes for you. We are passionate about bringing innovative, personalized eye care, and quality products to provide our patients with comfortable vision solutions.
